I wish to apply for a passport from Mumbai in September 2012.

I joined Larsen & Toubro in 22 July 2011 in Surat and was posted to Mumbai in 25 August 2011. Since then I have been staying in Mumbai. For first 11 months I was given hostel accommodation by the company i.e. till June 2012 after which I shifted to my own accommodation (Rented Flat) in Mumbai itself from 1 June 2012.

However I face the following documentation issues:

1. I don’t have Election ID Proof, Driving License.
2. I am from Karnataka and have PAN Card and Aadhaar Card and Birth Certificate.
3. I have the address proof for my hostel accommodation given by the company from 25 August 2011 to 31 May 2012.
4. On 1 June 2012 I shifted to my own accommodation, again in Mumbai only. I have an ICICI bank account and I have changed my address details in the same to the current address. However I don’t have any other address proof for my current address except the Leave & License Agreement of the flat.

Kindly suggest if above mentioned documents are enough for me to apply for a passport.

I visited PSK Herald house-ITO for PCC on 01/06/2012 as per the appointment , Officials said that your data is missing in the system due to data migration took place from NIC servers to TCS servers and your police verificaton will be redone and this process will take approx 20 days.

On 13-14 june 2012 Police verification got done by CID official .

Since then i am waiting for the update from Passport office. When ever i check on the website , i find the same status message as mentioned below.

PCC application granted on 01/06/2012.
Police Verification has been initiated and a request has been sent to SP Office, District East Delhi.
After 'Clear' Police Verification Report is received at Regional Passport Office (RPO),
PCC needs to be collected from the RPO. You would receive an email/sms once the PCC is ready for collection.

I have also being following up with the PSK call centre and they are also telling me the same thing that Police verification report is yet to be submitted by SP office east delhi.

I don,t know what to do and whom to contact.

I request to kindly help as my Visa application is getting delayed because of this. your earliest response will be hightly appricated.

Regarding: Status on police verification for my passport application

I applied for reissue of passport on 16th Dec 2011, its file number is HY20*****111, I had police verification in Feb 2012 by Mr. Chandra Shekar. I have produced all the documents requested by the officer and he was satisfied with the documents and also produced neighbors as witnesses to confirm I am staying in the current address for more than 1 year. Even produced the allotment later given by builder in 2007 to confirm, I am owner and resident of the current flat.

Officer also confirmed that he will send the report to passport office in 15 days, but when I inquired about the passport status at RPO, Secundrabad, they are still waiting for the police verification report which is pending from Superintendent of Police office.

RPO office also mentioned that they have sent a remainder on 2nd April 2012 to get the status on police verification report.
